Copyright & Takedown Policy

Effective date: 2026-08-06

TubeTaster respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same. This policy explains how content reaches the Service, how to notify us if you believe material on TubeTaster infringes your rights, and what we do once we receive such a notice.

TubeTaster does not crawl, index, or browse video platforms, and it publishes no public content feed. Nothing enters the Service on its own. A recipe is created only when a signed-in user submits a specific link that the user has chosen, and the resulting recipe is saved to that user's private library; the user may then share it with specific people they have connected with. What the Service stores is a short text recipe together with a reference to the original source. The underlying video is never made available through TubeTaster, and any media retrieved in order to produce a recipe is deleted immediately after processing. Every extracted recipe displays a link back to the original video and, where available, to its creator. Responsibility for the links submitted rests with the submitting user under section 6 of our Terms of Service.

In most jurisdictions copyright does not protect a mere listing of ingredients or the functional steps required to prepare a dish. In the United States this is reflected in 37 CFR § 202.1(a); under German law such listings generally do not reach the required level of originality (Schöpfungshöhe). Creative expression surrounding a recipe is protected: the video itself, photographs, and original descriptive or narrative prose. TubeTaster is designed to produce the functional part — ingredients, quantities and steps — and not to reproduce a creator's video, images or prose. If you believe a specific recipe on the Service reproduces protected expression of yours, please tell us using the procedure below and we will act on it.

Notices of claimed infringement and all other copyright correspondence should be sent to the contact designated below. This is our designated agent for notices under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) and our point of contact for notices under EU and German law. Full operator details are set out in the Impressum.

So that we can act quickly, please include all of the following. Notices missing these elements may be delayed while we ask for the missing information.

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed. Where a single notice covers several works, a representative list is sufficient.
  • Identification of the material you claim is infringing, in enough detail for us to locate it — ideally the recipe's URL or share link, or a screenshot together with the recipe title and the account that created it.
  • Your name, postal address, telephone number, and e-mail address.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and — under penalty of perjury — that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on the owner's behalf.

Please send notices in English or German. We aim to acknowledge receipt within 5 business days and to complete our assessment within 30 days.

On receiving a complete notice we will, without undue delay:

  • Assess the notice and, where it is valid, remove or disable access to the material concerned.
  • Notify the user who submitted or created the material and pass on your notice, including your identity, so that they are able to respond. Please include only information you are willing to have shared with that user.
  • Inform you of the outcome.
  • Record the notice for the purposes of our repeat-infringer policy.

If your material was removed and you believe this was the result of a mistake or a misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the contact in section 3, containing:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the material that was removed and the location at which it appeared before it was removed.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, postal address, telephone number, and e-mail address.

We will forward a valid counter-notice to the party that submitted the original notice. Under the DMCA, if that party does not notify us within 10 business days that it has filed a court action seeking to restrain the activity, we may restore the material. Sending a counter-notice may expose you to legal proceedings; if you are unsure, seek legal advice first.

In appropriate circumstances we terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers. Valid notices are recorded against the account concerned; an account that accumulates repeated valid notices will be suspended and may be terminated permanently in accordance with section 12 of our Terms of Service. Blatant or wilful infringement may lead to immediate termination on a first occurrence.

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), a person who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages. We do not accept automated bulk notices, and we may decline to process notices that are evidently incomplete, abusive, or sent in bad faith. This does not affect our obligation to act on valid notices.

Independently of the DMCA procedure above, the contact in section 3 also serves as our point of contact for notice-and-action requests under Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (Digital Services Act) and for claims under §§ 7 to 10 DDG (German Digital Services Act). As a hosting provider we are not obliged to monitor the information we store or to investigate circumstances indicating unlawful activity; our obligation to remove or disable access to specific content arises once we obtain actual knowledge of it. Complaints about how we have handled a notice can be raised with us directly at the same address.

This policy forms part of our Terms of Service. For full operator details, see the Impressum.
